Marshall Farms Custodian is directly responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment by cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining facilities.

This position is a grade O11 with a pay range of $16.50 - $21.60

Essential Tasks: 

• Maintain building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls; cleaning breakrooms and bathrooms; providing laundry services. 
• Performs floor cleaning and refinishing functions including operation of a variety of floor care equipment. 
• Maintains building accessibility and appearance by gathering trash and waste; removing trash by emptying trash containers; transporting materials to disposal area; recycling materials. 
• Maintain cleaning supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies and cleaning equipment replacement. 
• Keep cleaning equipment operational by following the manufacturer’s operating and care guidelines; completing operator repairs and parts replacement, as needed and
• Other duties as specified by management.

Requirements

Education, Competency and Leadership Requirements 

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Competency Requirements: Individual is capable of effectively and consistently performing essential tasks; operating all sanitation equipment in a safe and proper manner; and demonstrating knowledge and proper application of various cleaning compounds.

Leadership Requirements: Individual will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve.

Work Conditions & Special Requirements

Work Conditions: 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. 

Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and be willing to travel to local Marshall Farms offsite locations.

Physical Requirement: Must be able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including buffers, strippers, vacuum, broom, and mop. Must be able to constantly lift, carry, push, pull, and otherwise move objects.

Mental Requirement: Individual is capable of effectively receiving, understanding, and applying written and oral instructions.
